Our Services

We specialize in all types of digestive tract disorders.  Some of the most common conditions of the upper digestive tract (also called "Upper GI") include: GERD, dysphagia, esophagitis, ulcers, H Pylori infections, bariatric surgery evaluations, polyps, and gastric cancer.

The small and large intestines come next in the digestive tract. We also treat the following:  Peptic ulcer, Irritable bowel, Celiac disease, Malabsorption, lactose intolerance, GI bleeds, intestinal cancers, colitis, Diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and Colon cancer.

Another part of the digestive tract is your biliary system.  This includes the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.  Symptomatic gallstones are very treatable these days with laparoscopic surgery. If the gallstones block the common bile duct causing sudden pancreatitis, an endoscopic procedure called ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) followed by surgical removal of the gallbladder will be necessary. There is also an illness called cholangiocarcinoma which is a cancer of the bile ducts. Cholangiocarcinoma is often diagnosed by ERCP. The treatment is difficult but symptomatic treatment is possible with ERCP and stent placement. Sometimes the biliary system can move very slowly. This is called dyskinesia or difficulty moving, and it can cause discomfort, nausea, and pain below the right rib cage. The treatment is surgical removal of gallbladder.

Liver diseases can be quite treatable if caught soon enough.  Hepatitis and duct problems can be treated medically, endoscopically, and at times surgically. Some liver problems cannot be as treatable.  Cirrhosis, Wilson's disease, and liver cancer are quite hard to treat if not caught early enough.

The pancreas is another organ in the digestive system. Acute pancreatitis can be caused by excessive alcohol or gallstones. In really severe cases of pancreatitis, small cysts will begin to form on the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer cells can also form in the tissue and linings of the pancreas.

So from your intake of food to elimination, we have a board certified and well trained gastroenterologist to help you with any digestive problem you may be having. We are confident that we can help and have you on the road to recovery and feeling better. Make an appointment today.

Painless & Quick Hemorrhoids Procedure
One of the procedures that Dr. Simoni specializes in is endoscopic treatment of Hemerrhoids. Dr. Simoni uses the latest technology available to ablate hemorrhoids by placing a rubber band over the vessels that supply blood to the hemorrhoids. This procedure is called EHL (Endoscopic Hemorrhoidal Ligation) and it is performed painlessly, within minutes, and without requiring any sedation or admission to a facility. This is only possible due to the great combination of Dr. Simoni's extensive knowledge, training, and experience in this field.
